Matt is an attorney with a practice dedicated to assisting clients navigate special education law and 504 plans. Originally from the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, Matt came to Vermont in 2007 to study at Vermont Law School. He has worked in the field of financial compliance for much of his career, including in positions in Chicago and Denver, as well as in Vermont, where he returned in 2014. He has also practiced in the areas of estate planning and bankruptcy law.
Being the father of a child with special needs, Matt is enthusiastic to be of service to other families facing challenges that arise within the field of special needs law. He understands that he has a special opportunity to apply both his personal experience and his understanding of the law in advocating for families in Vermont. Matt firmly believes that individuals with special needs deserve ardent support – both to protect their rights as well as to improve opportunities for growth and advancement.
Matt earned his B.A. in English from the University of Maryland in 2003 and his J.D. from Vermont Law School in 2009. He is admitted to the Vermont State Bar and the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont.
In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and delving further into the study of metaphysics. He lives in Central Vermont with his wife and daughter.
